Isn't this rather undercutting the long-established Towns, Villages and Cities Wikia? Robin Patterson 01:52, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair question - I think our goal here is broader, but also different. We want to cover cities that don't exist as stand-alone wikia, also we're purely focused on travel and not news about the city, or history... but there are elements of duplication - to be sure. This page could be used for the wiki's mission statement. Please add notes below on what could be included in this.

World wiki is free for all to use, and that the GFDL allows us to leverage the work of Wikipedia, Wikia and other sites. GFDL is the dominant wiki license.

There are lots of niches in travel that need comprehensive info (seniors travel, family, kosher, gay, etc), and this wiki aims to address these areas.

There are lots of directories where businesses pay $100's of dollars to list, whereas Wikia is free for-ever!

This wiki is part of a company that is founded on the notion of free-culture.

Some people want to read more than 1 page of information about ROME, where wikipedia and other travel sites limit the information, we have over 250 pages on just churches to visit in Rome.
