Euro

The euro is a common currency of twelve countries of the European Union. These countries are Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Effective from 1st January 2007, Euro shall also become currency of Slovenia. Use of Euro banknotes and coins commenced on 1st January 2002. However, the background of Euro as almost as old as the conceptualization of the European Union.
