Overview
Congo Brazzaville, also known as French Congo, was once a French colony; and it was a part of the present day Republic of the Congo, Gabon, and the Central African Republic. Around 1880, about thirty French companies received concessions from the French government to develop the region. The concessions were granted mostly for collection of ivory, and for rubber and timber plantations. The people faced traumatic measures at the hands of these companies; and despite tough measures hardly ten companies earned profits.
The country has a varied wildlife, waterfalls and places with scenic beauty. Simple watching the people and social custom will also give a unique dimension to your visit to the place.
