Overview
California, covering an area of 158,402 square miles (410,000 km²) and with a population of 37 million, is the largest state of the USA in population, and the third largest in area. It truly represents the Great American Dream and Vision as manifested in its social and cultural milieu; technological and scientific development; and an environment conducive to the growth and development of human civilization in many dimensions. Although one of the legend states that once the Californian lands were populated by mythical fe* hikayemale warriors dominated by women and ruled by the their queen Califia, which gives it its name, there are many other stories behind its name. Leaving aside the legend and the stories, the region was home to Native Americans before the Europeans reached California, and for more than 500 years, it has attracted pioneers, adventurers, settlers from all parts of Americas and all around the world. Presently, it is not only the most ethnically diversified state of the United States of America, the economy of more than 1.55 trillion $ makes it bigger than all but the top seven national economies of the world. The state’s economy is also highly diversified representing Entertainment (Hollywood), Agriculture (California Central Valley), High-tech and Information Technology (Silicon Valley), and Wine (Wine County).
